Pronunciation Guide

Like any dictionary, such a project can never be finished! It is, however, decently started.

The pronunciations are given according to these rules, which I borrowed from the jargon file (public domain) and have hacked some to meet our requirements of content and presentation.

Currently the available effort is being put into getting stuff from books other than Brokedown Palace into this guide. While that book is full of strange names, the guide to pronunciation in the front (written by Steven's father) fully explains how to pronounce all of them. And they occur in no other books, at least in those forms.

Some of the words have sound files associated with them—mp3 links. Steven recorded them for me, so I consider them canonical.

The notation BoJPG indicates the word is from the Book of Jhereg pronunciation guide. The notation TLoCB indicates that the word is from the character list in The Lord of Castle Black.
